Around the World in Eighty Days is an adventure novel by the French writer Jules Verne, first published in French in 1872.  The story follows Phileas Fogg, a wealthy and precise English gentleman who wagers that he can travel around the world in just 80 days.  Accompanied by his loyal French valet, Passepartout, Fogg embarks on a journey filled with challenges, including missed connections, natural obstacles, and the pursuit of a detective named Fix, who mistakenly believes Fogg is a bank robber.  Travelling by train, steamship and even an elephant, they visit places like India, Hong Kong, Japan and the USA.

Chiltern Classics editions of much-loved works of literature are beautiful editions of all your favourite classic tales.  These books were inspired by the original Jane Austen series from the 1800s, and the measurements match those of the first editions printed.  Chiltern books fit perfectly in the readers hand and the internal paper is not only thick and hardwearing, but feels silky smooth to the touch.  Chiltern books will stand the test of time and could easily be the kind of collectible books that are passed down through the generations.  The gilt-edging of the pages gives a glamourous, old-money feel to the collection, and these pretty hardback novels will be sure to look simply stunning displayed in your home library for many, many years to come.
