Collection: Contemporary Fiction

Browse our collection of contemporary and modern fiction. What is contemporary fiction, you ask?  Books that are written in a modern setting, usually written and published after the 1940s in the post-war era, and which explore distinctly modern characters and themes.  Some of our favourite examples include Margaret Atwood's The Handmaid's Tale series, Richard Osman's Thursday Murder Club series as well as older contemporary classics such as Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas by Hunter S. Thompson and East of Eden by John Steinbeck.
